Franschoek Bastille Festival 2016

Do you have your berets ready? Is your red, white and blue outfit planned? Then get ready to celebrate the Franschoek Bastille Festival on 16 and 17 July 2016.

The festival takes place at the Food & Wine Marquee which is set against the backdrop of the historic Huguenot Monument.

In a statement, the organisers noted: “As winter sets in the marquee is guaranteed to keep out the cold yet still offering exquisite views of the mountain. Ample parking on the grounds allows for comfortable walking distance to and from the village.”

The event offers the opportunity to sample some of the Franschooek local wines, as well as gourmet food from a selection of Franschhoek’s well-known eateries.

“Add the quirky caricature artist who captures your Bastille experience, the popular Porcupine Ridge Barrel Rolling Competition and a dedicated children’s area, and you have all the ingredients for a fun filled festival,” added the organisers.
