About Us

PushPlay was born on 30 July 2006 and launched its subscription service in October that year. PushPlay brings the equivalent of all the video stores in South Africa to the mailbox or PC of its subscribers, where they can easily browse, select from and prioritise more than 70,000 titles.

PushPlay offers DVD rentals for a small fixed monthly fee, subscribers can rent as many DVDs as they want per month, keeping up to six titles at one time. Movies are delivered to every corner of South Africa via dedicated secure mail streams in the Postal Service from distribution centres located in major postal hubs. Movies include prepaid envelopes for returns. There are no late fees because you can keep the movies as long as you like. PushPlay movies include new releases as well as hard-to-find independent films, TV shows and documentaries.

Subscriber movie ratings and choices are used to predict preferences and make recommendations to subscribers who have similar tastes making it easy to find the movies they’ll enjoy from the vast selection.
